ATTRATTIVE TURISTICHE PRINCIPALI

 

- PHNOM PENH (circa 1.700.000 abitanti). Città di indubbio fascino dove vale la pena trascorrere qualche giorno. Gli edifici in stile coloniale francese (in parte restaurati), si alternano a nuove costruzioni. La vita che si respira qui, sembra ancora “a misura

Città di indubbio fascino dove vale la pena trascorrere qualche giorno. Gli edifici in stile

coloniale francese (in parte restaurati), si alternano a nuove costruzioni. La vita che si respira qui, sembra ancora “a misura d’uomo”, come se il tempo si fosse fermato. Dalle prime ore del mattino, le strade ed i tanti mercati si animano (da segnalare il “psar Tuol Tom Pong o Russian market, il psar Thmei o mercato nuovo, il psar Chas o mercato vecchio, il psar Kandal e l’O’Russei market). Il vociare ininterrotto, i profumi delle spezie e delle pietanze, la merce di tutti i tipi esposta in vendita, rapiscono il viaggiatore.

Sul “riverside”, la lunga passeggiata è un piacere da non mancare; i ristorantini e le bancarelle, offrono specialità gastronomiche per ogni palato. La crocera sul fiume rappresenta un’altra interessante e romantica attrattiva.

La vita notturna inoltre, non manca; fino a tarda ora, numerosi locali rimangono aperti.

Fonte d’attrattiva sono anche: il Palazzo Reale, il Museo Nazionale, la Pagoda d’argento (unico monumento rimasto intatto durante il periodo dei “kmer rouge”) ed alcuni wat, templi-monasteri come il Wat Ounalom (sede centrale buddhismo cambogiano) ed il Wat Phnom (la pagoda sulla collina a cui la città deve il suo nome).

Il famoso carcere cammuffato da scuola “Tuol Sleng” detto anche “S21” ed il “killing field – Choeung Ek” (appena fuori città), ci ricordano il triste periodo di Pol Pot al potere dal marzo ’75 al gennaio ’79, quando circa ¼ della popolazione fu barbaramente assassinata.

 

 

PHNOM PENH (around 1.700.000 inhabitants). A city that is full of charm where it is well worth spending a few days. The buildings from the French colonial time (some in good conditions or restructured) are now alternated to new constructions. The life here seems to be as if time had stopped. From the first hours of the morning, the roads and the markets transform into life (worth visiting the: psar Tuol Tom Pong or Russian market, psar Thmei or new market, psar Chas or old market, psar Kandal and O'Russei market). The atmosphere captivates the traveller.

 

On the "riverside", the long walk is a pleasure not to miss, the restaurants and the stands, offer gastronomic specialty for taste. The cruise on the river is another interesting and romantic thing to do.

 

      The nightlife is vibrant; numerous places are open till late.

 

Source of attraction are also: the Royal Palace, the National Museum, the Silver Pagoda (the only monument that was intact during the period of the "Khmer rouge") and other Wat as the                                                                   Wat Ounalom (the centre Cambodian Buddhist) and the Wat Phnom (the pagoda on the hill that gave the name to the city).

 

      The famous jail “Tuol Sleng” alias “S21” and the “killing fields – Choeung Ek” (few km     outside the city) brings back the sad memories of Pol Pot, from march 1975 to January 1979, when a ¼ of Khmer population were killed.

 

 

 

 

 

-         SIEM REAP & TEMPLI DI ANGKOR (circa 300 km da Phnom Penh): la città, situata appena a nord del Tonglee Sap, è dotata di strutture ricettive di ogni livello e per ogni esigenza. Si stà continuamente ed irrefrenabilmente espandendo grazie alla vicinanza della zona dei templi di Angkor, sito archeologico che rappresenta la principale attrazione di tutta la Cambogia e che richiama da anno in anno, un numero di visitatori  sempre maggiore. Dichiarati dall'Unesco Patrimonio dell'umanità nel 1993, i templi, circa 100 edifici sacri, realizzati fra il IX e il XIII secolo, si estendono su di una superficie di circa 400 kmq. Furono gradualmente inghiottiti dalla giungla e per “liberarli”, fin dal secolo XIX, l’opera di disboscamento e di risistemazione, è costante ed ininterrotta.

C’è uno dei due aeroporti internazionali della Cambogia con collegamenti alle principali metropoli asiatiche.

Da Siem Reap, è possibile raggiungere via barca Phnom Penh, Battambang o altre interessanti destinazioni per un’affascinante seppur stancante crociera.

 

 

-     SIEM REAP & TEMPLES Of ANGKOR (about 300 km from Phnom Penh): the city is situated       at north of the Tongle Sap; it is endowed with receptive structures of every level and for every       demand. It is growing and expanding constantly because of the proximity of the zone of the       temples of Angkor, the archaeological site that represents the principal attraction of the whole of       Cambodia. Every year the number of visitors increase. In 1993,UNESCO declared the area to be, a Patrimony of humanity. The temples, around 100 sacred buildings, were realized       between the IX and the XIII century and they extend on a surface of about 400 kmq. They were       gradually swallowed by the jungle and since the XIX, century, the work of deforestation is       constant.

 

      The city of Siem Reap, has one of the two international airports of Cambogia with connections to       the principal Asian metropolises.

 

      It is possible to reach by boat Phnom Penh, Battambang and other destinations. During the dry       season the cruises are slow and complicated.

 

 

 

 

 

-         SIHANOUKVILLE (circa 230 km da Phnom Penh): in lingua khmer Kompong Som.

-         Nata a metà degli anni ’50 come piccolo borgo di pescatori (prima era giungla), la città, si è sviluppata rapidamente ed è in grande espansione.

Rappresenta il naturale sbocco sul mare della Cambogia di cui è anche il principale porto commerciale. È facilmente raggiungibile via terra con autobus da Phnom Penh (4 ore circa) o da Koh Krong Kong (4 ore e mezzo circa).

Imminente l’apertura ufficiale dell’aeroporto internazionale con voli da e per Bangkok.

Sihanoukville offre bellissime spiagge sul litorale (Othres, Sokha, Indipendece) e sulle isole poco distanti facilmente raggiungibili.

Flora e fauna particoloare.

Un paradiso ancora incontaminato.

Sole, nuoto, relax, snorkeling, immersioni, buon cibo, ottima ospitalità, vita notturna, esperienza fuori dal normale, sono solo alcuni dei motivi che potrebbero suggerirvi di trascorrere del tempo in questa amena località.

La natura, è vergine; le occasioni per entrarne in contatto non mancano. Un tranquillo giro delle varie spiagge in bicicletta è già un piacere per avvicinarsi ad essa.

      A pochi km dalla città, il Parco Nazionale del Ream è un’oasi protetta ricca di vari tipi di flora e       di fauna. I rangers saranno molto contenti di portarvi in barca.

 

 

-      SIHANOUKVILLE (about 230 km from Phnom Penh). In Khmer language: Kompong Som. Born          in the middle of 1950, at the beginning it was a small fishermen village (before 1954 it was a jungle).

 

The city quickly developed and is in great expansion. It is also the principal commercial port. It is easily connected by bus from Phnom Penh (about 4 hours) and from Koh Krong Kong (about 4 and a half hours). The official opening of the international airport is imminent with flights to and from Bangkok.

 

Sihanoukville offers beautiful beaches (Othres, Sokha) and wonderful islands. Sun, swimming, snorkelling, diving, good food, good hospitality, night-life, are some of the reasons as to why one would suggest to spend some time in this pleasant place for a unique kind of journey.

 

      The nature is nearly uncontaminated; the occasions to be in contact with it are many. A tour           of the various beaches by bicycle is already a pleasure to appreciate it.

 

      Few km far from the city, the National Park of the Ream is an oasis rich of various types of flora          and fauna. Rangers are really glad to show you around by boat.

 

 

 

 

 

-         KAMPOT & KEP (circa 150 km da Phnom Penh): cittadine costiere, facilmente raggiungibili via terra. Tranquillità, ozio, riposo e contatto con la natura, sono le loro caratteristiche. A metà strada per Sihanoukville sorge l’ex stazione climatica del Bokor (attualmente in ristrutturazione), dalla cui altura si può ammirare un stupendo panorama del Golfo della Thailandia e delle foreste tutto attorno. Ah la moto!

 

 

-            KAMPOT & KEP (about 150 km from Phnom Penh): coastal towns, easily accessible by land. Peace, leisure, rest and contact with nature are their characteristics. Half way to Sihanoukville             the former station climate of Bokor (actually under refurbishment), from where one can admire a beautiful landscape of the Gulf of Thailand and the forests all around. Moto, moto moto!

 

 

 

 

 

-         KOH KRONG KONG (circa 270 km da Phnom Penh): posto di frontiera al confine più a sud con la Thailandia. Per molti, provenienti via terra, rappresenta il primo impatto con la diversità della Cambogia rispetto al paese vicino. Offre un circondario incontaminato fatto di foreste vergini, cascate e paradisi naturali in genere. Ben collegata con Sihanoukvillle via terra e via mare.

 

 

-         KOH KRONG KONG (around 270 km from Phnom Penh): area of frontier with the south of Thailand. For many visitors, arriving by road, it represents the first impact of the difference of Cambodia compared to the nearby countries. It offers an uncontaminated virgin forest, falls and natural heavens. Well connected with Sihanoukvillle by bus and by boat.

 

 

 

 

 

-         BATTAMBANG (circa 290 km da Phnom Penh): sembra una classica città thai di piccole dimensioni poichè vive ed ha vissuto sempre di commercio. Collegata con un’ampia rete fluviale, costituisce un ottimo punto di partenza per visitare i templi ed i villaggi vicini. I numerosi edifici coloniali in stile francese, fanno da cornice al lungofiume. Ottimo sito per lo shopping ma anche per un tranquillo relax.

 

 

 

-         BATTAMBANG (about 290 km from Phnom Penh): seems like a small Thai city where commerce is its main source of income. Connected with an ample river channel system, it is a good point of departure to visit the temples and near villages. The numerous colonial buildings in French style, serve as a frame to the riverside. Good place for shopping and relaxing.

 

 

 

 

 

-         TAKEO (circa 80 km da Phnom Penh): importante crocevia del commercio con il Vietnam via terra e via acqua grazie sopratutto alla rete di canali che percorrono il suo territorio. I tranquilli villaggi sono circondati dalle risaie. La popolazione, dedita all’agricoltura è cordiale ed ospitale. Interessante visitare i numerosi templi.

 

 

-     TAKEO (about 80 km from Phnom Penh): an important crossroad of the commerce with Vietnam by       road and sea thanks to the net of river channels that cross the territory. The rice fields surround the peaceful villages. The population, often involved in the agriculture is cordial and hospitable. It is worth visiting the numerous temples.

• Tutti i servizi a terra (dovete solo comprare il volo) per un tranquillo e sicuro soggiorno in Cambogia, paese ancora interamente da scoprire.
• Ogni giorno, “una scoperta”!
• Coadiuvato da personale khmer, sono in grado di organizzare gli spostamenti e le escursioni disponibili secondo un turismo responsabile mirato anche ad aiutare e sostenere la popolazione locale.
• Parlo italiano, inglese e khmer (o quantomeno lo stò studiando).
